Network Providers

The Advantage of Shopping In-Network

The advantage of using in-network providers is that they accept discounted rates for services and will not balance-bill MUST members for medically necessary services where the allowance exceeds the negotiated rate. (Keep in mind, however, that members are always responsible for meeting plan deductibles and co-payment amounts.) Using network providers can mean significant savings for members.

However, members are not required to use network providers. While it is strongly encouraged to keep member costs down, members are free to see providers outside the network. They should simply be aware that services will likely cost them more out of pocket.

Provider Search

It is important that MUST members understand and be able to access our separate provider networks. Below you will find descriptions of each network's coverage area and links to each network's online provider-search portals. Check the appropriate network based on where your doctor performs services.  Not all in-network providers appear in all of the networks, so it is essential that members search based on where they intend to receive the service.

Most providers in Montana are members of the MUST network. Members are free to see any licensed providers they wish, but if they use out-of-network providers, our negotiated network discounts will not apply. Instead, MUST follows what is known as the Maximum Eligible Expense (MEE) for paying these claims and the costs will probably be greater. For an explanation of how MEE works, please call MUST Customer Service at 1-800-845-7283.
